Community Intranets
Creatop has emerged as a leading developer of community intranets and community management software.
We have created partnerships in the construction and telecommunications industries to supply intranets into newly established residential and commercial developments. Community Intranets can supply a virtual space where residents can interact and organise in a way that is easy, inexpensive, and immediate for new residents.

Community Intranets - Benefits (at a glance)
Newly created communities need to be more than a simple geographic congregation of houses. They need to be communities; real communities with people who interact and know one-another. Creatop community software can create this, and offer many benefits to residents and developers alike.
- Residents can be involved with Body Corporate;
- New residents are immediately included in the community;
- Removes barriers that can impede neighbours meeting one another;
- Involves residents into the sales cycle;
- Creates and promotes community values;
- Shared assets of a community can be managed from a central system;
- Residents can pay Body Corporate fees online;
- Integration into security services, such as web camera monitoring;
- Assists networking on issues of communal interest;
- Services within a community can be promoted (eg. child minding);
- Specific utilities can be monitoring (eg. management services, power etc.);
- Low capital input from developers;
- Value-added services easily provided and promoted to the community.
Community Intranets - Case Studies:
Master-planned communities such as Coomera Waters, The Ecovillage, Kelvin Grove Urban Village and MyGenesis have all chosen the Creatop path.
- Austcorp - Coomera Waters: Austcorp is one of Australia's leading residential construction companies; developing numerous master-planned communities in and around Australia's major metropolitan centres. Creatop is in partnership with Austcorp to create a community intranet for one of their largest projects, Coomera Waters. The site has been running for over four years, and is an important tool for Body Corporate to inform the community of the latest news, and for residents to promote events and interest groups to one another.
- Kelvin Grove Urban Village: Kelvin Grove Urban Village (KGUV) is a master-planned community development located inside Queensland University of Technology, 1.5km north of Brisbane's Central Business District. The community delivers low-cost housing to students attending various colleges and universities across Brisbane. The KGUV community intranet connects the various students in an online communal space and encourages intellectual debate about community-generated topics; provides access to subscription services; and informs members about events and nearby amenities and facilities.
- The Ecovillage: The Ecovillage is a sustainable housing and land project located in the hinterland of Queensland's Gold Coast. They required a community intranet that is centred around interest groups, for which the residents develop and maintain the content. There are around 40 different groups, covering interests from Body Corporate to creek health to recycling to technology. The site has been running since May 2008.
- TradeCoast Central: TradeCoast Central (TCC) is a one billion dollar commercial development located on the old Brisbane Airport site, located approximately 8km east of Brisbane's Central Business District. TCC is designed according to environmentally sustainable principles and is connected with the most modern available infrastructure and communications networks. To further contribute to their value-added services, TCC has commissioned Creatop to develop a portal to deliver relevant subscription services to its customers, utilities monitoring services, as well as encouraging networking within business located in TCC.
Additional to Creatop's community intranet developments, Creatop also works with a number of community based organisations to develop and deliver business management software and websites. For example:
- Scouts Queensland: SmartTeam business software to manage membership, email, time-sheeting and calendar services.
- Royal Flying Doctors Service - Queensland chapter: website and content management services.
